  1. You really have a different Bloom Day than us here in the north. So many pretty blooms I will not see for two months. I love your 'hell strip' planting. I have toyed with digging up the one in front of my house, but the neighbors already took issue with how much of the front yard grass I replaced. I see you have carex too. A pretty invasive plant here. Well, have a Happy Bloom Day, Greggo.

  2. Hope your Sambucus does better than mine. I had a 6 year old plant iwth stems 3 inches around completely die this past year; nothing coming up; as did everyone else here I know that had one. Something wierd about the Manhattan weather last year I guess.

  3. Bloom Day is both inspiring and discouraging, as you see all the beautiful flowers already spectacular in the higher zones! Lovely lovely photos.

  6. Greggo, had to answer you right away. The magazine is a template that I use every month. Once I created it, it is a matter of just substituting and reusing some graphics. It actually takes less time than a regular post. One month, it literally was about 15 minutes total. That is why I expanded the theme to span a week or two. Time saving is good at this time of year for me. Your post today would have taken me a much longer time to load the images one by one.

  10. Hi there Greggo - you certainly are quite a few months ahead of my scottish garden. Salvia's are not strong growers in my garden but yours are simply beautiful and you have a lovely colour combination in that strip at the front of your property.

  14. I do love your salvia with the yarrow. I have some catmint next to mine, that just needs to grow a bit more. Love that blue flax! And I'm drooling over your black elderberry. I actually bought a teeny tiny one, and I've been so busy it's been neglected. In fact, I need to go check and see if it's still alive! :O

  15. Your first photos is just beautiful! Yarrow usually isn't one of my favorites, but I may have to go search some out now. :)

  16. Very nice! I love the flax, and the heuchera blooms are so nice compared to most cultivars. I really love your parkway - so much prettier than plain old lawn!
