Gotcha is the theme for Novembers Gardening Gone Wild's Photo Contest. In definition this month has to do with gardeners and not gardens. A case for portraits. Charles Mann a professional photographer from New Mexico is the judge. This a unique topic for me as most of my photos either have plants or insects as subjects. I will use my granddaughter as the subject, as many are doing. To go see other entries go to this link:

Above is the selection I chose. Grandaughter and Marigolds.
Good luck to all the participants.
This makes me realize I have more pictures of my plants than my grandkids!! They live halfway across the country, though, so what's a gardening grandma to do!! Looks like a fun contest :-)
ReplyDeleteWhat beautiful photos! Your granddaughter is a doll.
ReplyDeleteCher Sunray Gardens
Great photo and great choice for the contest!
ReplyDeleteI hope you win this time. This is a photo that really speaks to the contest. It is a beautiful portrait with a little story built right in with that adorable expression. You can almost know what she is thinking. Good luck!
ReplyDeleteShe's beautiful, so expressive, great photo and just right for this month's theme.
ReplyDeleteGood luck! She looks like she's having a great time, and I like how her bracelet picks up on the flower color. I think portraits would be very challenging!
ReplyDeleteThat's a winner Greggo!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cutie. Easy to make good photos with her as a subject.
ReplyDeleteGood luck!
Excellent choice. Must have been a tough pick, she is so adorable. Kids and flowers, what could be better...
ReplyDeleteCute kid!!! She's pretty smiley. She must really love the guy taking the pictures! :o)
ReplyDeleteSo sweet - best of luck! Happy Thanksgiving, Greggo!
ReplyDeleteDear Greggo, This photo is definitely a winner in my eyes. Your granddaughter is adorable ... I so envy you as I have only grandsons. P.
ReplyDeleteGreat composition. Good luck with the contest!
ReplyDeleteWhat a delightful photo! Some of my best memories involve my children, and other children, too, in the garden. I still remember the joy of exploration and discovery on their faces.
ReplyDeleteGreggo, the photograph is stunning and your granddaughter is beautiful! GOOD LUCK ... I think this is a winning shot :)
ReplyDeleteCute photo! Good luck! I saw where you were selected as a top runner for the last one- congrats! (the fill the frame). I wrote you back on my blog but in case you don't get over there to see here's what I wrote- I never know if I should respond to the person or on my blog HA:
ReplyDeleteGreggo- We got down to about 31 there at the nursery- it wasn't covered and this photo was taken yesterday, but it dies down and comes back at least where we are. That particular variety is Cuphea micropetela. I love it- one of my favorites, had it for years at the house
I love those photos, especially the first one!
ReplyDeleteWow she is so lovely and the photos beautiful too! Your entry is great.
